The American Dream

Show Page Introduction

Kristine Joy was barely in her teen when their family migrated to Highland City, San Bernardinao County, in Southern California, USA.  Their "move" has every bit of hope, lofty, but endless hope!  Their lives have been shattered by all these challenges and cruelties of our society.  Life will be meaningless, if her youthful time will be spent in the country we love where society was so unfair and justice was so empty during that time.

She had witnessed the highs and lows of human kind.  She had been the living witness of excesses and emptiness that made many individuals looses their self-respect.  She does not want to be part of that life anymore.  To move on, is the right thing to do.  To carry on, is the ultimate decision worth asking for.  To hope and to work for enhancing their new-found home and new beginnings are the rays of hope that will propel them to succeed in the years to come.

This Friday morning, 17 October 2008, Kristine Joy has received from the mail the reults of her Psychiatric Technologist tests conducted by the California State Board.  She had passed it with flying colors.

With tears flowing from her eyes Kristine cried to her Mom who was also crying at that time.  Together, they cried unashamedly in joy and disbelief.  For now, Kristine Joy is a Certified California State Board Psychiatric Technologist, ready to assume more responsibilities in re-building and re-shaping America in the 21st Century.  Sensing the opportunities ahead of her, Kristine Joy is full of hope and determination.  For now, she can compete with the best, and only the best, in this great country - the USA.

"Gosh," Kristine Joy uttered her admiration for her Ditse Maricel who had been very unselfish helping her finished her studies.  Truly, Kristine Joy could not finish her course in college if Ditse Maricel did not sacrifice her personal agenda for her sake. "Oh, I love Ditse Marricel, and I would do everything to help her finish her studies too, " said Kristine Joy.

Kristine Joy is now more composed, cool, and determined to face the higher stages of the American Dream. She is more confident now more than ever, because she is learned, better-equipped, and morally-prepared to face the challenges of time in the Land of Opportunity - where American Dreams are gifted to deserving individuals regardless of race, color, and creed.

Gintong Lahi is very proud of the first member of the clan he brought to America, studied in America, finished her course in America, and got a license to practice her trade in America.  God Bless and Mabuhay!
